A lot of you have been asking who is that nice young lady in our Mt. Pleasant office? She is our new secretary, Wende Luko! I know, I know, didn't we just have a new girl a few months ago? Well, like anything else, sometimes you just have to try things out to see if they work, sometimes they don't and sometimes they DO! Luckily for YOU, and us, Wende works (!) and she LOVES it. She is a much-needed breath of fresh air for our constantly growing Mt. Pleasant office. We hope you can grow to depend on her like we have and make her feel at home! Ft. Madison is On The MOVE

Okay, Here's The Scoop! The Ft. Madison location of Concha Audiology is getting ready to move! Because of the purchase of our old building in central Ft. Madison, we are looking for a new home. As of press time, we have not selected a new location. We will include our new address with the mailing of this Newsletter. We will have the same phone numbers and the same friendly staff.

Ringing, buzzing, roaring, chirping…. These are some of the terms that people use to describe how their tinnitus or the ringing in the ears sounds to them. Ear Cleaning - It Isn't A Do-It-Yourself Job!! - Many of our patients have confessed to sticking "something" smaller than the infamous elbow into their ears when they have itching in the ears or want to clean them free of wax. Paper clips, bobby pins, toothpicks, and car keys are a few of the tools patients admitted to using in their ears. These items can scratch your ear canal or even puncture your eardrum, causing extreme pain and bleeding from the ears. There are over-the-counter drops and/or creams available to soothe those dry, itchy ears, as well as softening agents for wax that are safe to use. Only your physician, or in some cases, your Audiologist, should remove wax from your ears. So, if you feel the need to stick something smaller than your elbow in your ear - STOP- Call today to make an appointment to have the wax removed for you in the safety of your doctor's or other ear care professional's office.
